Laser tag is one of the easiest birthday parties you can throw — the venue runs the show, the kids run the arena, and you mostly hand out pizza. But packages hide their real costs in the extras. Here's the anatomy of a party package, what's actually included, and the checklist that keeps the day smooth.

What a party package is

Nearly every venue that hosts parties sells the same three-part bundle: games + party room + host. The standard package includes 2 games of laser tag per guest, a private party room reserved for 45–60 minutes, and a party host — a staff member who wrangles the group, runs the vest-up, serves the food, and keeps the schedule moving so you don't have to. That host is the quietly most valuable line item in the package; a good one turns twelve amped-up nine-year-olds into two organized teams and gives you a party where the adults actually get to sit down.

Premium tiers add a third game, more room time, food, arcade credits, or a "VIP" upgrade like glow gear or a private arena round where it's just your party in the match — worth asking about, since public rounds mix your group with walk-in players.

What it costs

Typical laser tag party packages run $250–450 for a base group of 8–12 kids, with extra guests at $18–30 each. Big family entertainment centers trend toward the top of that range (their packages usually fold in arcade cards and food); smaller dedicated arenas can come in under $300. Guest counts and team math
