The 30 Largest US Cities Without a Laser Tag Arena, 2026

America has 1,525 laser tag venues — and yet Philadelphia, a city of 1.6 million people, has zero inside its city limits. Here are the 30 biggest cities where laser tag is still wide open: 17 with no arena at all, the rest with exactly one. Combined, that's 16 million Americans living in cities the industry hasn't caught up with yet.

The open markets

If you've ever wondered where to open a laser tag arena, this table is the market research. Every one of these cities clears 100,000 residents — enough birthday parties, youth groups, and corporate team events to keep an arena busy — and none of them has more than one venue to serve them.

To be fair to these cities: most of their residents can still find a game — the arenas sit just outside the line, in the suburbs. That's exactly the point of the ranking. The demand is there; the in-city supply isn't.

Methodology. We matched every venue in our national laser tag directory (1,525 venues, continuously maintained from public business listings) against US Census place populations (2024 estimates), then ranked cities of 100,000+ residents with zero or one venue inside the city limits by population. "City limits" means the venue's listed city equals the census place — an arena in a bordering suburb doesn't count, which is the honest way to measure in-city supply (consolidated city-county names are normalized, and township-style census places are excluded). Updated August 17, 2026; refreshed with each quarterly re-crawl.
