If you live in Greater Kalamazoo and used to travel to Grand Rapids Grand Prix for kart racing—those days are over. Experience high-speed kart racing at ZapZone XL in Crossroads Mall, Portage. It blows GRGP out of the water. The 700-foot track features time tracking, speeds up to 45 mph, and a boost function.
We brought our team here for a party, our party host treated us incredible and every employee we talked to treated us with respect. The only issue I encountered was trying to figure out where to park, otherwise this is an incredible place to take your friends or family for a night out there have a little bit for…
So much fun! Expensive but worth it. I recommend going early and stay until 8. One entrance closes at 8 pm, we had to walk all the way around to get to our car,in the dark! Bring your own grippy socks to save $3.50 at the huge trampoline area. Bring your own roller skates/blades to save $5.00 for rentals.
Extremely fun expirience for families! The prices are pretty steep for food & drinks though, You won't catch me getting an $8 Slushie here 🤡 But we'll definitely stop for the games and go-karts!
Birthday parties at Zap Zone XL - Portage
Zap Zone XL - Portage hosts birthday parties — confirmed on their own site. Laser tag parties usually come with a party host who runs the games, wrangles the group between rounds, and handles setup and cleanup — so parents can mostly watch the mayhem. Packages typically bundle a set number of games with a party room, pizza, and drinks, and many venues add private arena time for bigger groups. One thing to plan for here: a signed waiver is required — send the venue's waiver link to the other parents with the invites, or check-in day gets slow. Packages, party rooms, and pricing change often, so check the current options and book ahead — weekend slots go fast at popular arenas.
Adult laser tag at Zap Zone XL - Portage
Zap Zone XL - Portage comes up for adult play — adult nights, leagues, date-night sessions, or corporate team events, going by reviews and the venue's own info. Adult sessions mean full-speed games without dodging seven-year-olds, and venues that run them often take group bookings for work outings. Schedules vary a lot venue to venue, so check the calendar or call before you rally the squad.
